visual.afThe scripts send no data
Visual.af scripts run inside Affinity, on your computer. They are imported without network or file permissions: they don’t connect to the internet, don’t read your documents beyond the layer you choose, and don’t send us anything.
What we collect on the site
- Your account. To download scripts you create a Visual.af account with Google. We receive your name, email and profile picture, and we keep track of which scripts you downloaded to show them in your profile.
- Downloads. Each download goes through a form by Creem, which processes orders for us, with your email, name and country. Creem passes that data to us along with which script, language and format you downloaded.
- News. Only if you tick the box in the form or turn it on in your profile do we use your email to tell you when new scripts come out. You can turn it off in your profile at any time.
- Clicks on “Download”. We count each click with its script, language, format and page, along with a random identifier stored in your browser. It doesn’t include your name or email.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider logs basic request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
- Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when serving them.
- Emails. If you write to us, we only use your address to reply.
Storage in your browser
The site doesn’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you sign in, it keeps a session cookie needed to keep you signed in. In your browser’s local storage it keeps the random identifier for clicks on “Download” and a note that you signed in, which you can delete at any time from your browser. Creem’s form uses its own cookies, which it needs to complete the order.
How we use it
- Give you access to your account and your scripts.
- Deliver the scripts you ask for.
- Know how often each script is downloaded, in which languages and from which countries, to decide what to improve.
- If you agreed, tell you about new scripts.
- Keep the site secure and working.
- Answer your messages.
We don’t sell your data, show ads or track you across other sites.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers: Google, to sign in; Creem, which runs the download form as merchant of record (see its privacy policy); the services that host the site and store the data described above; and Google Fonts for typefaces. They only receive what they need to provide that service and may process data in countries other than yours.
How long we keep it
Your account and download data is kept for as long as you have the account, and until you ask us to delete it. Your news preference changes when you change it in your profile. Clicks on “Download” are kept for as long as they help us understand how the site is used.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU GDPR or similar laws), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to certain uses. Email us at support@visual.af.
Children
Visual.af is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, say so on the site.
